Funded by the Queensland Government, eligible community organisations such as U3As may apply to share in $100,000 to host events and activities held during Seniors Month in October, by applying for a grant of up to $2,000. Seniors Month is coordinated by COTA Queensland on behalf of the Queensland Government.
Connecting with one another has never been more important, which is why COTA_Q continues to celebrate Seniors Month annually, with the theme of Social Connections. COTA-Q invites community groups such as U3As to take part in Queensland Seniors Month by:
- Applying for a grant of up to $2,000.
- Registering your Seniors Month events and activities into the online calendar of events.
- Supporting people to find events and activities.
Applications are open now at SmartyGrants and will close Sunday 30 April 2023.

Reinforced by the continuing theme of ‘Social Connections’, COTA-Q aims to increase the social connectedness of communities throughout Queensland. It’s called “Connect Fest!”
Now in its 63rd year, Queensland Seniors Month provides opportunity for people across all generations to connect and challenge our own stereotypical views of ageing and the aged. It also provides opportunities for people to discover local programs, services and volunteering opportunities, which may assist in reducing social isolation.
