Enriching the Lives of Queensland Seniors
Conference Registration & Art Competition open February 1

Dear {name}

I hope you all had a restful holiday and a joyful Christmas and New Year and are ready to join us in celebrating a major milestone for U3A.  As we step into 2023 we look forward with enthusiasm to two major events on our calendar: The U3A Network Queensland Conference in May and the Network Art Competition. The top 20 entries in the competition will be exhibited at the Conference in Rockhampton.

This year's Network Conference will be an historic event, in that, it celebrates 50 years of U3A worldwide. There will be five separate events that comprise the conference program:

  • Meet & Greet on Monday, May 8
  • Two days of Anniversary Celebrations on May 9 and 10
  • 50th Anniversary Dinner on Tuesday May 9
  • Network Queensland Dinner on Wednesday May 10
  • Network Conference Day and AGM on Thursday May 11

Morning/Afternoon Teas and Lunch will be included in your conference registration for 9th, 10th &  11th May.

Entries for the Art Competition & Exhibition close on 21 April, and I would appreciate your assistance in encouraging members of your U3A to submit entries to the competition. In addition to the winner and runner-up prizes there will be a People's Choice award that will be judged by those attending the Meet & Greet function on May 8.

Winners of the three prizes along with a video exhibition of the Top 20 entries will be announced at the Network Dinner on May 10.

I hope you and members of your U3A can join us for the celebrations and the conference events. For more information about the conference and the Art Competition please go to the Conference Website Page here and the Art Competition page here. And please read the latest news about the conference below.

I look forward to renewing old friendships and meeting new members when we gather in Rockhampton.

Please register for the conference and events on the Network Website from next Wednesday, February 1. There will be links to the Registration Page where you can register for as many events as you choose to attend.

Best regards
