U3A Network State Conference hosted by U3A Mackay 11 – 13 May 2027
Conference Theme: ‘A Little Further North’
U3A Mackay warmly invites delegates and other attendees to the U3A Network State Conference 2027 to be held in the tropical city on the beautiful Coral Sea Coast of Queensland.
Theme for the conference is ‘A Little Further North’.
U3A Mackay members are building the 2027 conference around three key experiences: Learn, Share, and Connect. Their goals are that every delegate will: learn something, contribute or share something, take back useful things for their own U3A group, and, most importantly, network, engage, and establish connections across U3As.
The Mackay region is rich in natural beauty. There are the sandy beaches that hug the city, our unique blue Pioneer River, and Cape Hillsborough National Park, where the kangaroos and wallabies gather on the beach at sunrise. Venture a little further and you’ll find Eungella National Park – home to rainforest, fresh mountain air, and one of the best places in Australia to spot a platypus in the wild.
Registrations for the Conference and Events will open in early January 2027.

11 May 2027 – Meet and Greet
Venue: Theatre at Conservatorium of Music, Central Queensland University, Bldg 21, 151–171 Boundary Road, Ooralea.
12 May 2027 – Conference Day 1
Venue: Ocean International Hotel, 1 Bridge Road, East Mackay
Conference commences at 8.00am for Registration
Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea provided
13 May 2027 – Conference Day 2
Venue: Ocean International Hotel, 1 Bridge Road, East Mackay.
Conference Commences at 8.00am
Network AGM commences at 11.18 am
