U3A Network Queensland has launched its new website at u3aqld.au, to showcase U3A activities across Queensland and to increase awareness of the important role our U3As play in supporting seniors in our communities.
Network President Rhonda Weston AM said that delegates to the recent State Conference hosted by U3A Pine Rivers clearly identified the need for closer cooperation and communication between the 35 member associations that make up the Network.
“Our new website introduces a new digital era for Network Queensland. Modern interactive websites play an important role for organisations such as U3A, with digital communications now commonplace in our daily lives,” she said.
“Through the new website, which is now the centrepiece of our online presence, we will be better placed to communicate with our member associations and market U3A to external stakeholders in government and the community.”
Now that the new website is live the old website address at u3aqld.org.au has been redirected to u3aqld.au, although it may take some days before the redirect takes effect because of cached pages in browsers.
An important aim of the new website is to provide U3As with more interaction with the Network website, such as the U3A Associations newletters page here and the Associations News page here.
